Treets Traditions is a relatively new Dutch beauty brand whose product ranges revolve around ancient traditions found all over the world. Sounds familiar no? An added bonus is that its products are free of SLS, SLES, parabens, silicones, colourants and mineral oils. I have been testing some products of the Tweets Traditions Pure Serenity range, which was inspired by the Japanese onsen (bathing) culture.
The Treets Traditions Pure Serenity Foaming Shower Gel is a soap-free shower gel that is enriched with the scent of yuzu and cherry blossoms. Once you add water, the gel transforms into a rich cloud of foam. The benefit of a foaming shower gel is that you only need very little gel to produce a lot of foam. I found this works best when you use this with your hands rather than a loofah or wash cloth. The combination of zesty and floral elements gives your body the interaction of a fresh wake-me-up and a relaxing sensation. It doesn’t remind me of Japan in the way I had hoped, but it’s still a nice fragrance to lather yourself in.
My favourite of the two has to be the Treets Traditions Pure Serenity Bamboo Body Scrub, which comes with a decent spatula that you use to mix the scrubbing agents and the nourishing oils before applying them. This blend gently removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin smooth and moisturized.
I loved this first introduction to Treets Traditions and am intrigued enough to try out more from this brand in the future. Luckily, further exploration of this brand won’t break the bank as its products are super affordable. If you love your me-time as much as I do, I’d definitely recommend to go and have a look – or a whiff – and find yourself a new bath/shower buddy.
