Second Hand Second Life

Last Friday, I attended the 9th edition of Second Hand Second Life, a fashion show hosted by Spullenhulp. Spullenhulp is an organization that fights social exclusion and poverty in various ways. One of them is the annual fashion show Second Hand Second Life, where fashionista’s gather to admire the designs of 38 designers, which then are auctioned for charity after the show. This year, the auction managed to collect 28.650 euro, which will be used to finance a shelter for the homeless youth. Some really talented and established designers that took part in this event were Edouard Vermeulen (Natan) and Dirk Wynants (Extremis). Also young and emerging designers got a chance to present their talents in front of the 2.000 headed crowd, like Filles à Papa and Van Hongo.

What a great initiative to combine fashion and charity as one. Big kudos for the designers who offered their creations to charity and therefore helped giving youngsters in need a good home.
