Review | Caudalie Vinosource Moisturizing Matifying Fluid + SOS Morning Eye Rescue

I totally understand. Finding the right moisturizer when you have combination/oily skin ain’t easy. Especially when it’s dehydrated too (which is very likely during winter) . A lot of brands promise a matte T-zone with while everything stays well hydrated but fail to deliver, only to leave you with a face that’s shining like a disco ball in a matter of hours. I’ve been there, it sucks.

A bit skeptical, I started to try the Vinosource Moisturizing Matifying fluid from Caudalie,  a French apothecary brand who’s famous for its antioxidant and anti-ageing qualities. Not the brand I’d usually go for, but when blogger duty calls I answer!

“This lightweight fluid has an instant matifying effect and a long-lasting sebum-reducing action. Grape water hydrates, while Flax Powder provides oil-control and rebalances for a velvety, matte complexion. The ideal shine-control and moisturizing treatment for combination skin types, all year round.”

The texture of the moisturizing matifying fluid is very liquidy, which is common for moisturizers aimed at combination skin. The fluid is incredibly lightweight and sinks in almost instantly, making it the perfect base for make-up (with or without a primer). My T-zone stays matte with this for at least 8 hrs, while hydrating my skin at the same time.My cheeks are of the normal skin type, although they can feel quite tight after I’ve used a certain kind of face wash. I’m not convinced this moisturizer would do as great with dry skins.

As you can probably tell I really enjoyed using this product and I did until I squeezed the very last drop out of the tube about a month ago. It’s been a while I was sad to have emptied one of my skin care products which could only mean one thing; I need to get me some more asap!

Next up is the SOS Morning Eye Rescue, which is basically the same thing but for your eyes. The formula again, is a lightweight cream that gets absorbed into the skin very quickly. I don’t have that much experience with eye creams, but what I do know is that they definitely make a difference (compared to when you’re not wearing any) when you’re wearing make-up on top. It looks way smoother and doesn’t crease as easily. In that aspect, I think the Vinosource SOS Morning Eye Rescue is very similar to the Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream, which I love but has a much heavier price tag. I use it during both my morning & evening routine to keep my eyes hydrated 24/7.

The big asset of this eye cream is that its designed for sensitive eyes, so if you’re wearing contacts this is an interesting choice. It’s goes easy on the eyes and the sensitive area around them.

Overall I’m very pleased with these two Caudalie products and they make me curious to try some more products from the same range. I’m still hanging onto the SOS Morning Eye Cream for now (am I the only one who things 15 ml is a lot to use in only a couple of months?) so I won’t be needing something else anytime soon. The Moisturizing Matifying Fluid however has already been added to my shopping list.

Caudalie Vinosource  Moisturizing Matifying Fluid (40 ml)   € 21,60
Caudalie Vinosource SOS Morning Eye Rescue  (15 ml)            € 18,50

Caudalie is available at apothecaries and via the Caudalie website.

The products above were sent to me by a brand/PR company.

Ik heb me net de Total Mat lijn van Vichy aangeschaft, dus ik ga voorlopig geen nieuwe mattifierende producten testen, maar je hebt me wel benieuwd gemaakt.
