Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

This nifty little product is called the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. Probably sounds familiar to most, but I admit I hadn’t even heard from it until Isabelle talked about it because I usually go for coupe ‘run wild & free’. Anyway, being the good enabler that she is, I purchased this at Marks & Spencer while I was in London two years ago. Little did I know this was going to cause a hair revolution à casa Sté.

The Philip Kingsley Elasticizer is a pre-shampoo conditioning treatment that was originally created for Audrey Hepburn. While an extra step in the hair care routine might seem like a chore, it really isn’t. You can just make your hair wet, divide some of the white treatment in there, roll it up and wear the shower cap for around 20 minutes and just go along your day without having to wait. Or you could combine it with a long relaxing Lush bath. Your choice. I do this about once a week.

The formula doesn’t contain any fragrance and the texture is as thick as that of a normal conditioner, only slightly stickier. You really don’t need much at all and you can cover both your scalp and ends without having to worry it’s going to become oily afterwards. After the 20 minutes are up, you rinse it out and go on with your normal routine.  Over time I noticed my hair getting more body, bouncier, shinier and stronger. I couldn’t stop touching it! At £29 for a jar, this is certainly not the cheapest treatment out there, but definitely worth it because a little goes a long way and apart from the L’Oréal Mythic Oil Milky Spray, the rest of my routine has actually been pretty cheap lately = Nivea! So do you need an entirely different routine costing a fortune for great hair? Certainly not, a simple addition like this can make a difference.

My hair hasn’t been dyed since 3 – 4 years, so I can’t really say much about very dry or damaged hair, but for my oily scalp – dry ends type of hair this worked out great and I would definitely repurchase (if I didn’t have a gazillion other products waiting to be tested that is). Top-shelf hair product for sure.
