Do you wash your hair more than 3 times a week? Then it’s probably time you give your hair a break. Of course you don’t have to stop washing your hair entirely. Simply a product with less harsh ingredients will do, like the new Matrix Bioloage Cleansing Conditioner. The cleansing conditioner is a new way to cleanse and condition the hair in just one single step which I thought was interesting although risky having oily roots. It comes in 4 different variations depending on the hair type (fine – medium – coarse – curly) and they’re free of parabens and silicones.

I’ve been trying the one for medium hair for the last couple of weeks now and I have to say my hair looks and feels softer, immediately after I’m done washing it. Normally it would feel kind of dry and difficult to handle until the next day, but now I could get that 2nd day look straight away. The reason for this is the anti-oxidants of the acai berries that help prevent dehydration and give more shine. One big note though: don’t use more than the 6-8 recommended pumps and make sure you rinse it out really well afterwards! It’s a conditioner after all.

Conclusion: As a person with oily hair who washes her hair every other day, I can’t say this replaces my routine completely. What did work for me is to use this every other time I wash my hair (for example on Monday normal routine, on Wednesday cleansing conditioner, on Friday normal routine and so on). I would recommend looking into this if you’re someone who washes his/her hair every single day, as this will be much gentler for your hair and also if you’re hair is having a dry moment ( for example after a holiday in the sun/pool) to help it get back in shape.
