Giorgio Armani Eye Tints

Earlier this year Giorgio Armani Beauty dropped an eyeshadow bomb on the beauty market in the shape of a lipgloss. Meet the Giorgio Armani Eye Tints; 12 lovely shades of liquid full-on sparkly eyeshadows that stay put, even without a primer. Before you go into hallelujah-praise-the-lord mode, I have to point out that even though they last long, they’re not easy to work with. They’re buildable, but some shadows are harder to blend out evenly than others. You can build them up to create a fully opaque ‘wet’ look or blend them out to make them look more powdery.

The packaging looks exactly like the Armani glosses, stylish & elegant. Inside there’s a slim doe foot applicator to help you apply, although your fingers can be helpful tools as well if you want to blend the outer corners. I got to try °01 Obsidian, °05 Onyx and °12 Gold Ashes. Great colours, although I will most definitely get the most use out of Gold Ashes, a bright sparkly champaign gold. The Onyx shows up a little too greenish for my taste and the black Obsidian is too harsh for me, but you might like it for a night out.

As you can tell these are really glittery, yet there’s nothing to fear when it comes to fallout. They stay put just fine. The swatches above are just 1 swipe. So pretty!

For the purpose of this post I went into experimental mode. I used Gold Ashes in the inner corners of my eyes, where they met the grey-green tones of Onyx which I applied all over the lid. I added the cat flick to give it a more futuristic look. It’s nothing like I would actually wear, but it helped to test the potential of these eyeshadows. The pigment was easy to build but making the 2 colours mix was quite the task. I think I must’ve spent half an hour to get this right. I believe they work the best when worn alone (lazy girl talk *cough*).

Conclusion: Overall I think the Armani Eye Tints are more suitable for evening looks than day-to-day wear because of how bold and glittery they are. They’re are a good option if you’re looking for long-lasting liquid eyeshadows and you know your way around liquid eyeshadows. The nudes are all really pretty, yet my favourite colour out of the entire range is probably Senso ( a warm brown). But before I dive into another one, I’ll have to get the hang of them first.
