Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette probably doesn’t need an introduction. Even months prior to its release it had a cult status a lot of brands can only dream of. The result was the palette selling out instantly. So every now and then some palettes show up online and in case you were still wondering wether you should get it (is that even possible tho) I say get it!

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush palette is a limited edition palette featuring three shades of Ambient Lighting Blush, the groundbreaking blush that creates seamless, soft-focus and multidimensional color. It includes 3 shades:

• Luminous Flush: A champagne rose blush fused with Luminous Light to evoke a candlelit glimmer.
• Incandescent Electra: (no longer exclusive to the palette): A cool peach blush blended with Incandescent Light for a celestial glow.
• Mood Exposure: A soft plum blush fused with Mood Light to brighten the complexion.

Though it does have a pretty heavy price tag, there hasn’t been a single day I regretted buying it. For starters, the lightweight powders are very smooth, finely mild and very pigmented. Even swirling your brush around a little gives off too much product, so you’ll be able to enjoy it for a long time. The reason why these blushes stand out from the rest is because of the really pretty satin finish that looks so incredibly natural thanks to the Photoluminescenct Technology that exhibits depth and dimension.

The mix of blush and highlighter adds a certain glow to the face I haven’t seen any other bush do. It’s not glittery at all, just illuminating. If you need more glow, you can also combine them with the Ambient Lighting Powders. The marble pattern of each powder blush is unique, so there’s a chance there’s a slight difference in colour, depending on how the blush/highlight is put together.

The downside to the fine formula is that the blushes are very fragile and therefore less suited to carry around in your bag or on holiday. It’s also said to be less suitable for medium to dark skin types because the difference between the 3 colours doesn’t show up enough. That’s certainly not the case for a fair skin like mine.

I can only agree why this product is such a hype. It’s beautifully packaged, the formula is great, the colours pretty and it simply belongs in the stash of any blush fanatic. It looks a bit powdery in the pan, but once applied it looks really natural and doesn’t emphasize pores. The colour also lasts perfectly throughout the day. I’d say jump on it as soon as you spot one!

Het palette was nog niet uit en het had al een cult status waar veel merken nog maar van kunnen dromen. Gevolg: het palette was in een mum van tijd overal uitverkocht. Zo nu en dan duiken er opnieuw wat exemplaren op online en ik kan hierover maar 1 ding zeggen: niet twijfelen! Hoewel er best wel een stevig prijskaartje aan vasthangt, is het een aankoop waar ik nog geen seconde spijt van heb gehad.

De blushes zijn heel zacht, fijngemalen en goed gepigmenteerd. Zelfs met je borstel lichtjes vegen is eigenlijk al te veel, dus je doet er best lang mee. Waar deze blushes zich vooral mee onderscheiden van de rest is de ontzettend mooie satin finish die heel natuurlijk oogt. De mix van blush & highlighter geeft het gezicht een hele mooie glow. Helemaal niet glitterig, maar gewoon echt stralend!  Elke blush is uniek, dus het kan best zijn dat er wat kleurverschillen zijn naargelang hoe de blush is samengesteld.

Een negatief puntje is misschien dat de blushes heel fragiel zijn en dus minder geschikt om mee te nemen in je tas of op reis. Ook voor medium tot donkere huidjes zou het wat minder geschikt zijn omdat het verschil tussen de kleuren niet zo duidelijk zichtbaar is. Op mijn lichte huid is het verschil wel degelijk te zien.

Ik kan de hele hype alleen maar beamen en zeggen dat dit palette zeker en vast een plaatsje verdient in de stash van elke blushfanaat. Je zult er wel een tripje voor over moeten hebben of gewoon lekker makkelijk vanuit de luie zetel online bestellen.
