As I was going through my big pile of Korean beauty items, I realized I totally forgot to post my review of the Holika Holika Gudetama Lazy & Easy Character Mask Sheet. If you’ve read my previous post on the Holika Holika x Gudetama collab, you know I absolutely loved the makeup items in that collection. But does the sheet mask live up to that standard as well? Let’s find out..
First of all, let me just say the packaging is again, on point. It embodies exactly what Gudetama stands for and looks like he’s just being his lazy old self. There are 2 versions of the mask: one that is entirely yellow (as shown here) and one where the egg is broken in half. This sheet mask is a character sheet mask, which mostly means that the mask itself will have the character on it.
However, these character masks require a thicker material of sheet mask in order for the print to work, which makes the mask more stiff. As a result, it’s a lot more difficult to make this adhere properly to the skin and continue with your everyday tasks, so I recommend to use this one while lying down or use a silicone cover on top (although that kind of defeats the purpose of a fun character mask). It also makes the sheet mask dry out quicker.

The mask sheet promises to restore the balance of tired skin with soothing essence containing vitamins and also brighten the skin. Although the list of ingredients looks very soothing, I had a hard time to keep it on for the recommended 10-15 minutes because it felt irritating on my sensitive skin. Just look it my face below. I was barely holding it together to take this photo.
I looked up a couple of reviews and the results came in 50-50. Some said the mask was great and did everything it said it would, while there were also some who had the same irritating experience as me. I was actually planning on giving it another try because 1) it is pretty funny to have a lazy egg on your face and 2) I wasn’t satisfied with the photo, but quickly reconsidered thinking I shouldn’t have to put my skin through this twice. Again, this will depend on the person, but for me the Holika Holika Gudetama Lazy & Easy Character Mask Sheet just didn’t work and I’ll just have to stick to the make-up.
