Most of the time I’m perfectly fine with being the fairest in the room, but I admit there are times I wish I was a little more tanned or just slightly warmer in skin tone. Especially when Summer is coming up and Dior is dropping their latest Care & Dare Summer 2017 collection on my doorstep and I’m far from Summer-prepped. Peter Philips’s latest brainchild is all about Care – protection, hydration, comfort, and Dare – fun, colour and adventure. The collection brings the best skin care ingredients and blends them in with the most daring colours, creating a carefree, cared-for look.
Diorskin Nude Air Care & Dare
For Summer 2017 the iconic Diorskin Nude Air powder has been upgraded with its embossed NUDE letters in pure white. The letters are enriched with caring and boosting skincare ingredients to shield against aggressive external influences, such as environmental stress and contamination. It comes with a soft kabuki brush which you use to take up the powder and apply on facial contours, moving in a C from the temple to the neck. The result is a complexion that is bathed in a soft and radiant summer glow.
002 Amber Tan is too dark for me now, but it looks neither too orange nor too muddy and I can’t wait to get this on my cheeks after my holiday!
Diorshow Colour & Contour Eyeshadow & Liner Duo
Dior brings the art of contouring to the eyes with its waterproof double-ended shadow-liner pencils. One end features a shadow with an iridescent finish to bathe the lids in shimmering white tinged with colour, the other a highly pigmented liner to rim the lashes with a bold line. I received the most natural one out of the 3: 630 Shell-Bronze is yellow champagne lined with a beautiful bronze. It’s too yellow in tone for me, but perfect for those with warm undertones. A handy Summer staple for in your handbag without a doubt.
Dior Vernis
I love the Dior Vernis nail polishes because they’re packed with pigment and are so easy to apply thanks to the rounded brush. Moreover, they add a gel-like glossy finish to the nails which makes them look really healthy. The nail polishes from the Summer collection are no exception. 445 Coral Crush is a beautiful vibrant coral. Slightly too orange for my pale hands to pull off, but so so beautiful for those Summer days at the pool.
