You might’ve guessed it already; I’m trying to cut back on my spendings on make-up this year. ‘Buy less, use more’ is my new motto. Then the press releases for Spring 2013 came in and slapped me in the face..hard. Below I posted 6 collections that are hitting the stands this month and each one has some product that makes me want to run to the stores without any second thought. MAC APRES CHIC
If there’s anything that can get my attention it’s marbled shimmer eye shadows, and MAC does them oh so well. I’d buy them in every colour if I could. (Catrice has some great dupes with their Intensif’ eye Wet & Dry shadows btw.) The biggest must-haves of this collection are the two drop dead gorgeous MSF’s, of which Stereo Rose is my personal favourite. You can simply never go wrong with a MAC MSF. DIOR CHERIE BOW
Dior has everything it takes to turn us into princesses with their extremely girly & cute Chérie Bow collection. Like last Spring this collection brings us 2 grand eye & lip palettes, this time in the shape of – what else- a cute bow. My personal favourites include the Chérie Bow palette in Rose Poudre, the 5 Couleurs Palette in Rose Ballerine, the Twin Set eye shadow pens (so curious about those!) and the Rosy Bow nail polish. Chérie Bow will be available by the end of the month at all Dior counters. Dior is also releasing their first BB Cream, which has received good reviews so far. As a BB cream fanatic I can’t wait to try it out myself. The Dior Nude products will be available from January 9th.

It’s been a while since I made my last Chanel purchase. Somehow the previous collection(s) didn’t appeal to me that much. And the whole US product comparison thing didn’t help much either. I mean, price differences because of currencies is one thing, paying more for less product is something different entirely. (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out this YT video.) Anyway, that was until now. I love the Raffinement eye shadow palette, the Fracas nail polish, the La Favorite lipstick and of course the star product of the collection: the facial powder. Like ermahgerd how pretty is that?! It’s almost too pretty to actually use.

GUERLAIN CILS D’ENFER
Guerlain never fails to amaze me with their Perles Météorites (this time in an limited XXL edition) and gorgeous creamy lipsticks. This collection however revolves around the new Cils d’Enfer mascara which is said to be flattering and very easy in use.

BOBBI BROWN BRIGHTEN, SPARKLE & GLOW
Bobbi Brown is known for her natural makeup, and the limited editions are no exception. The sparkly eye shadows are not very pigmented (and they’re not intended to be), but they’re designed in a way to create a subtle nude look with a bling bling touch. Another product that caught my eye is the brightening finishing powder. I can only imagine the gorgeous glow this will put on the face. (Bobbi Brown has a store in Brussels and a counter at Parfuma in Antwerp.)

GIVENCHY HOTEL PRIVE
The smallest of the bunch is the collection by Givenchy, but they will be releasing another mini collection in February (more about that later). It also comes with some additional products (not featured here) that are in the permanent collection. My favorites are the sheer eye shadow palette with it’s shiny studded packaging and the Private Rose lipgloss. The Hôtel Privé collection will be available by the end of the month at Ici Paris XL.
