10 Years of Givenchy MakeUp

Guess who’s celebrating their 10th birthday? Can’t believe Givenchy makeup only has been around for 10 years. Back in 2005, I had only been using makeup for the past 2 years, with little idea about what to get or how to apply it properly. Yet one of the very first luxury brands I really got addicted to was Givenchy. Luxurious, yet with a rebellious attitude that was different from everything else is what would draw me to the Givenchy display every time I went to my local Ici Paris XL.

During those 10 years, Givenchy launched a lot of iconic makeup gems and being a long-time fan and all, a lot of these I’ve put to the test. Let’s have a look at their 10 most iconic creations over the years:

2006 – Prisme Libre – A loose powder made out of 4 pastel shades when combined, give a harmonious and matte finish to the skin (€ 49).
2007 – Acti’Mine – A makup base for smooth and radiant skin (€ 37,50).
2008 – Phenomen’Eyes – The revolutionary mascara with unique round wand (€ 32,50).
2010 – Prisme Quatuor – Eyeshadow palette with 4 different colours & textures to mix or apply in layers (€ 52).
2011 – Mister Radiant – Sun radiance in a tube tanks to the micro beads that reside within the gel formula (€ 39,50).
2012 – Poudre Bonne Minne Croisière – The first bronzing powder without talk. The light texture adds a soft tan to the skin (€ 48).
2012 – Noir Couture – A mascara with round brush that has 3 parts and adds beauty, length, volume & curl to the lashes (€ 34).
2013 – Le Rouge Givenchy – Covered in real leather, this lipstick was designed to give intense colour and a satin finish (€ 35,50).
2013 – Teint Couture – A longlasting foundation in a liquid or compact version (€ 54).
2014 – Ombre Couture – A collection of creamy eyeshadows that are easy to work with and come in a variation of colours and textures (€ 24,50).

If I had to name my favourite products out of the entire range, 2 things pop up: the Prismissime Eyes eyeshadow palettes and Le Rouge lipsticks. As far as I know, the 9-piece eyeshadow palettes only come out in limited edition collections, so you better be quick to grab them. I currently own 2 of them and they sure won’t be my last. Prismissime Eyes always have great colour options, pay-off and are very travel friendly. My newest Givenchy love is the new Le Rouge lipstick collection. Apart from the amazing colours and texture, this is one I’d get for the incredible packaging alone. Real leather combined with the silver studs equals me drooling all over them. I currently own 5 and again, I’m not planning on stopping there.

One product that’s on my bucket list for ages though is the Poudre Première since Lisha is always raving about it: on her blog, when I visit or whenever we go on an IPXL shopping spree. So there, noted. You’re going to be mine.

Shame on me maar ik heb nog geen Givenchy-producten uitgeprobeerd! Gelukkig komt daar binnenkort verandering in want via Belmodo heb ik een pakketje gewonnen 🙂 YAY!
