Urban Decay is back to spoil us with another round of Gwen Stefani goodness. The Spring collection embodies a blush palette, 6 lipsticks, 5 lip liners and a brow kit, all inspired by the ever colorful vocalist and fashionista Gwen Stefani. The Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani eyeshadow palette turned out to be my favourite eyeshadow palette of the year and it looks like we have a couple of gems here as well. Especially if you have a fair complexion, this collection is one not to be missed!
The eyeshadow palette came with a couple of lipstick samples, which I happily used. Although I’m a bit bummed not all shades* are released on this side of the pond, I do think it’s a nice selection of lipsticks which by the way, have the same formula as the Revolution lipsticks. Apart from the nude (Ex-Girlfriend) and fuchsia (Firebird), all of them are red hues but with a different finish. I was camping out on the IPXL website around the launch to pick up Ex-Girlfriend but without success. If I do happen to find it in stores, this pretty nude is ending up in my basket for sure.
Apart from Spiderweb, all of them have a matching lip liner, which I definitely recommend you to use if you want to really define the lip and make the lipstick stay put. The lipsticks have a very creamy finish, feel comfortable on the lips and are smooth to apply, except for 714. Application here is a bit harder for this matte bright red lipstick, which is the first one to use the new Mega Matte Finish, but this one also stays put the longest. For swatches of 4 of the colours, please check out my swatch video.
- Rock Steady: deep wine red cream
- Spiderweb: satin red cream
- Wonderland: dark pink-red cream
- Firebird: deep fuchsia cream
- 714: bright red mega matte
- Ex-Girlfriend: sheer nude-rose with pink shimmer
- Phone Call*: sheer bright pink
- Plaid*: sheer deep berry
The Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Brow Box in Bathwater Blonde is certainly a welcome gift to many as the shadows in this box have just the perfect colour for blondes and even brunettes like me! Unlike a lot of brow kits this one contains 2 cool toned, ashy brown shades. That’s buh-bye orange brows! They’re very pigmented so you can also use them as eye shadows if you want.
Although the box is quite bulky (about the size of the palm of my hand, and I have big hands people), it really has all you need: a light and medium brown powder, a transparent wax, 2 (!) mirrors, 2 application brushes and a tweezer. I haven’t been testing this long enough (I haven’t really been giving my brows too much love lately tbh), but if you’d like a thorough review with swatches please let me know down below in the comments.
Then we’re on to the crème de la crème, the cherry on the cake, the cream of the crop, the.. well you get the gist.. Of course I’m talking about the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Blush Palette! What a stunner! Unlike the eyeshadow palette, the cover of the blush palette is white and gold, and topped with the matte UD x Gwen name plate which gives it a cool edge. The blush palette contains 6 beautiful blushes, bronzer and highlight which use the formula of the Afterglow blush.
- Cherry: light pink satin
- Easy: deep rose with gold shimmer
- Angel: champagne-nude shimmer
- Lo-Fi: soft bronze matte
- Hush: medium pink with gold shimmer
- OC: soft pink with peach shift
Blush palettes seem to be gaining popularity lately, which my have resulted in a blush overload over at StyleLab HQ. So what makes this one so special? The top pinks are pretty much a given for me, but I wasn’t too sure about getting the palette at first because of the bottom row. It seemed quite orange on the preview photos, but since Gwen is pretty fair herself, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. As it turns out, Hush and Lo-fi (2 of the bottom shades), together with Angel turned out to be my most-used shades. Talk about a twist of events.

The Afterglow blushes are described as sheer, but I find some of them are quite pigmented and buildable. They give the face a fresh, natural glow while adding warmth to my neutral-cool fair skin tone. I mostly use Angel as a highlight, Hush as a blush and Lo-Fi as my bronzer, but only on the cheeks to make it blend nicely with the blush. It’s too warm for me to wear as an all-over contour though. Overall, I think this is a nice addition to my makeup stash and I highly suggest you take a look at it before it sells out.

Ik heb het al verschillende keren gezegd en ik zeg het nog eens, voor mij is het blush palet het sterproduct uit de collectie, zo mooi.
Ik ben ongelofelijk blij dat ik het blush palette heb gekocht, it’s so pretty!
