Do you know what brings me happiness on Mondays? A bright pop of colour on my nails. I might not be a peacock when it comes to fashion, but I like to make a little exception for my nails, whether its pink, blue, purple or green, I’ll wear it all.  Fancy a bit of colour on your nails? Then you might be interested in hearing about the Colour Crush nail polishes from The Body Shop, a range of 24 uplifting colorful shades that are destined to put a smile on your face.

The Body Shop is known for their animal-friendly products, and this range is no exception. The nail polishes are not tested on animals and they do not contain any animal derivatives, which makes them the ideal polish for both vegetarians and vegans. Plus, the quick-dry with glossy finish formula was enriched with community fair trade marula oil and does not contain any aggressive chemicals such as formaldehyde, formaldehyde-resin and camphor. The result is a set of nail polishes that dry quickly, have a glossy finish and that for an affordable price.

I was sent 4 polishes to try out and I’ve swatched them below. As you can see, they’re really opaque (I only needed 2 coats) and apply pretty easily because the brush is not too small. Nevertheless, I’ll always prefer broad brushes. While the range is pretty basic in colour-terms (you won’t find any Chanel dupes here), the shades are pretty. In fact, I have a lot of mint polishes but Mint Cream from The Body Shop has got to be the prettiest one because it’s so bright and pure. I’m betting this will be my darling next Spring. It lasted for 3 entire days before some minor chipping occurred. So perhaps not the best formula out there in terms of tipwear, but considering the low price it’s doing a good job.

Conclusion: If you like to wear some bright glossy polish from time to time, The Body Shop Colour Crush polishes will do the job fast & easy. The Body Shop proves that leaving out some chemicals doesn’t have to affect the coverage or drying time. My personal faves are Crimson Kiss, Oh Petal, Got The Blues and Mint Cream. However, if you’re looking for some truly unique colours or polishes that’ll last for a longer period of time, you’ll have to look elsewhere.

The Body Shop Colour Crush nail polishes (6,8 ml) retail for € 6 / £ 5 / $ 8 at The Body Shop.

Have you tried these? What’s your favourite colour out of the range?

Wow, Mint Cream ziet er zo goed uit! Wishlisted, ziezo 🙂
TBS Green lijkt me interessant, eens iets anders voor deze winter.

    Love, Tessa.
