Starskin was one of the Western pioneers to jump on the sheet mask bandwagon and it certainly paid off. By combining one of Korea’s hottest export products with the desire to have amazing skin like the stars, this Dutch brand instantly put itself on the luxury beauty map. Indeed luxury, as the sheet masks don’t come cheap at roughly € 10 a piece. In return, you do get a sheet mask with an incredible good fit that feels like second skin.
I tried the StarSkin Behind The Scenes Balancing Bio Cellulose Second Skin Face Mask, a sheet mask which intensely soothes irritated and blemish prone skin types.
Instantly calming redness and relieving irritation, Behind The Scenes is rich in Vitamins thanks to the hydrating Coconut Juice whilst a skin balancing blend of Vitamin B and Gentian Root visibly purifies and refines the complexion and eliminates the appearance of blemishes. Maple Sugar and Spelt Seed work in synergy to rejuvenate and renew the skin whilst Chamomile and Heartleaf Extracts purify and sooth the skin for a calmer complexion alleviated from redness and visible pores.

I didn’t notice that my pores have gotten smaller just from a one time use (also because I’m using multiple products at once that promise to minimize pores). However, I did use the mask when my skin was feeling rather irritated and it did help to calm it down. You can also put the sheet mask in the fridge prior to application to further enhance this effect. Sadly this won’t be one that I can use multiple times per week like the stars do, but one to look for if you’re feeling like spoiling yourself..
