Shoplog MAC’s Venomous Villains

Today I paid a visit to the MAC store in Ghent to score some of the gorgeous items from the new Venomous Villains collection. It looks like I’m not the only one who was excited about this collection. It’s only been released on Saturday and just like I predicted, some of the products were already sold out! So was it worth the trouble?

Hell yes it was! After seeing some swatches on the internet I had it bad for this collection. The only thing that could’ve been better is the packaging. I really liked the sketches on the outer box, MAC! Anyway, the collection is really amazing. The colors are even better when you see them in front of you, so I definitely recommend for you to go and try them out. You might want to call the store beforehand to check if they still have the items that are on your wishlist though, because they are selling out fast! The sales lady told me even a tester (the Evil Queen’s Bite of an Apple blush) was stolen! I know the collection is great, and we all want it all, but don’t be too greedy, girls!

So here’s what I got:
Dr. Facilier Magically Cool Liquid Powder – Truth & Light; Evil Queen Powder Blush – Bite of an Apple; Maleficent Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo – My Dark Magic
These are the sketches I was talking about. Pretty cool, huh? I think these would’ve suited the plastic packaging better since they give more of an ‘adult’ feel to the collection. (I wonder if someone who’s not familiar with MAC or the Venomous Villains collection would think you’re using childs makeup if you would pull it out in public?) Still, I’m glad the images are engraved in the packaging and that they didn’t just label the regular packaging with cheap stickers.

Dr. Facilier Magically Cool Liquid Powder – Truth & Light
This powder is actually really cool! It’s formula is based on water, so when you apply it on your skin it feels kind of cool and perfectly melts with your skin. Truth & Light is the perfect color for lighter skintones and gives a nice subtle shimmer that you can use all over your face or just as a highlighter. I’d recommend this to anyone who’s planning on buying some VV stuff!
Evil Queen Powder Blush – Bite of an Apple
I loved the blushes of the entire collection, but this one is definitely the cutest. It gives you cute apple cheeks that instantly brighten up your face and gives you that ‘healthy look’. Don’t have a natural blush? This is the way to fake it!
Maleficent Mineralize Eye Shadow Duo – My Dark Magic
I’ve had my eyes on this duo eye shadow from the moment I laid eyes on the Venomous Villains product images, so I definitely had to get it. It was hard to get the colors right on the swatches, but it’s effect is really nice. I guess you’ll have to try it out yourself when you visit MAC. But you’re going to have to be quick if you want it, at the MAC store in Ghent the She Who Dares (blue/green duo eye shadow) was already sold out (bummer) and there’s only one My Dark Magic left when I was there this afternoon.

This collection is so amazing, I had to restrain myself from buying more because I’m saving up for the upcoming ‘Cham Pale’ collection, also by MAC (more about that later). But I might go back to get the Evil Queen eye shadows because of this gorgeous look I found on Temptalia.
