Great news fashion fanatics! Yet another ab fab brand has decided to settle in our beloved country, and more specifically at the Belgian seaside. From now on Knokke will be playing the role of host city to the very first boutique of Club Monaco. And to say it was already my n°1 shopping spot at the seaside!
“Founded in Toronto in 1985, Club Monaco is an international lifestyle brand that offers affordable luxury with a modern sensibility. Headquartered in New York City in the heart of west Chelsea’s gallery district, Club Monaco is part of the Ralph Lauren group that appeals to the creative consumer—a group of cultural influencers who mix fashion must-haves with timeless classics. The brand represents a distinctly urban-casual point of view, best defined as a sophisticated play of opposites: mixing vintage with new, hard with soft and eclectic with minimal.”
Aah, upon reading “opposites” my heart starts to flutter. I’ve been following this brand for a while now and I’m super excited it’s now available in Belgium! I have yet to visit the store myself, so I have no idea if the prices are any different from the American ones (let’s just hope they are), but I can say these are timeless basics that are worth the investment. Above and below I’ve posted a couple of my favorite looks from the lookbooks of July and August that are now available in-store. For more looks visit the website (I’ve posted the link below)!
The Fall collection is inspired by Linda McCartney’s Life in Photographs, the leading male characters in the Silent Generation, and block-print patterns from Jewish-French artist Sonia Delaunay and focuses on tailored pieces with a casual twist via pajama-like cropped suit sets, multicolored silk striped dresses, and graphic-printed separates tempered with chic blazers and tweed jackets. In other words; if preppy is your style, you should be on your way already!
If Knokke is just a tad too far for you I have more awesome news, because a second store is scheduled to open in Antwerp in January 2013!
Club Monaco, Kustlaan 253, Knokke.
What do you think of the brand? Anything in there you like?
