River Island Giveaway: Vote for your favorite!

I’m back with the second round of the River Island Giveaway where contestants are in the race to win a €100 gift voucher to spend at River Island. I’ve received a lot of great entries, so it was really hard to choose. Eventually, I picked the following as the 5 best entries…

I judged them on 5 points: outfit, moodboard, explanation, RTs on Twitter and FB likes. The last one was a bonus point, since that was a condition to enter the competition. Unfortunately some forgot that part.. Also, in the future (as this blog is in English), please enter your submissions in English as well. That would save me a lot of trouble to translate your pieces, since some tended to write books instead of 3 sentences. lol 😀

Below I’ve listed the 5 best (choosing 3 was too difficult) in no particular order and now it’s up to you and your followers! The one who gets the most votes on the poll is the rightful winner of this RI giveaway. You can promote your entry as you please, however I will not allow you to host giveaways to get votes since I find that to be pretty lame and unfair towards the other contestants.

Afrodite from The Fashion Folio

“I composed this outfit to wear in summer, with the Belgian weather on my mind. You can’t always trust the forecast, so I just wear what I’m in the mood for. This summer it’ll definitely be open brogues, with something light and casual on top. The kimono is a must and I haven’t got one yet, but I’m planning on buying one for sure! This outfit doesn’t need a lot of accessories, just simple sings such as a thin bracelet and something to accessorize the hair!  I’m quite proud of this outfit and I wish I could wear it already!”

Catherine from Watever a Go Go

“I got inspired by two trends at River Island: bright colors and fruit prints. The S/S-collections of Prada and Stella McCartney have been causing furore for a while now, but because of the often  rainy weather in la Belgique we didn’t have a lot of opportunities to wear the fruittrend. Now that the temperatures are rising, my wardrobe is asking for a summer update. Therefore I was happy to spot so many colors and fun prints at River Island. A mix of bright colors with fruit accents or accessories is my ideal summer look. Aside from Prada and Stella I also used blogger Leandra Medine from The Man Repeller as an inspiration source. She did a very fun post with outfits in all colors of the rainbow. I decided to replace her monochromes by color-blocking or say -clashing for a maximum impact!”

Isabelle from The Something Special

“I chose this outfit because I like to wear these kind of outfits. I’m a pretty dark type just like Charlotte and I don’t like to wear bright colors. Although the colors aren’t very loud, the outfit does get a boost because of the bracelet overload and the gorgeous heels. I’m participating in this competition because I like to shop at River Island and since I’m back from London (I’ve lived there) I really miss the shop. During the summer I’ll visit Antwerp and I’m really looking forward to shop there again. It’s also one of the few shops where they have a ‘true size 42’… I can’t find shoes anywhere but there!”

Elien from Dogs & Dresses

“I chose the Mixing Patterns trend, because it’s a trend River Island promotes and bc it’s really hot at the moment. It’s also an easy trend to wear, since figuratively speaking you can throw anything together and you still look ‘on trend’.”

Annebeth from The Styling Dutchman

“The collage is an outfit I’d definitely wear: retro dress, practical fun shoes, messenger bag and of course my signature heartshaped glasses. I made the colors of the dress re-appear in the shoes, blazer and ring, and I added some dark brown pieces like the brown bag and belt to use as a contrast, because more color would make it characteristic and too much colorblocking. But it still is an outfit in the colorblocking trend for the summer, only done in my way :)”

Who do you think did the best job? You can vote until Sunday 9th of July at 20h (GMT +1)!

UPDATE: The winner is…

Congratulations Elien!
Thank you all for participating, I’ll be doing some more giveaways in the near future so stay tuned! 😉

Prize thanks to River Island and Oona.
