Dear readers, today I’d like to introduce you to one of my favorite drugstore foundation releases this year, the L’Oréal Nude Magique Eau De Teint. Said to be a dupe of the popular Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Maestro foundation, this light-weight baby will make your skin look just as flawless for less!
Eau De Teint comes in 7 natural looking shades. I received 120 Pure Ivory as a PR sample, which is a light warm beige shade. Just a little too warm for me for this time of the year, but I loved the texture, look and feel of it so much that I ran to the store to get my perfect match; 100 Porcelain, which is the lightest shade available with a pink undertone.
The texture is incredibly light, both in texture and look. Eau De Teint is almost as liquid as water, and dries incredibly fast. Application does require some technique. L’Oréal suggests you apply it like a perfume, by holding (tiny!) bottle between your thumb and index and tilt it over so it leaves a tiny drop of product onto your index for you to evenly apply onto your face. Keep on doing it until you’ve evened it out. I do this on the back of my hand all in one go but hey whatever does the trick right?
The trick that makes this product work its magic is to add thin layers on top of each other until you get the result you like. Of course, because this is a very light foundation, you’ll never get the same amount of coverage you’ll get when using regular ones. Therefore I’ll say this now; if you need more coverage, this one isn’t for you. It will work great on normal to combination skin. It doesn’t cling to dry patches and doesn’t make your face all shiny, instead it gives it a nice natural looking glow. Sometimes I use a loose powder on my T-zone to make it look more matte when necessary, but usually I just leave it at that.

This foundation is extremely easy to work with, even though it might take a little longer to apply the layers. It’s not cakey at all, the finish looks quite silky and it’s almost like I’m not wearing any makeup. The only downside I’d say maybe is the heavy glass bottle and the fact that it doesn’t have a pump (hygiene alert), but with this running texture this wouldn’t work anyway.
As you can see, L’Oréal Nude Magique Eau De Teint 100 Porcelain does a great job at giving the skin a minor upgrade and natural silky finish, by covering up some pores, light age spots, blemishes, or other small imperfections but you won’t be able to cover up heavy blemishes, scars or redness with this foundation. For those days, I’ll use another foundation that’s just a little heavier (and I’ll talk about it soon) or I simply put some concealer on top.
I’m very happy with this new discovery and I’d suggest you give this a go if you don’t need that much coverage, but you’d like to give your skin a little extra. This is one to put on my rebuy list fo sho!
L’Oréal Nude Magique Eau De Teint (30 ml) is available for € 14 at the drugstore. Shade range may differ per country/ store.
Oh I really like that it’s so natural! It looks good on you 🙂 I don’t think I could handle the watery texture though, I would probably spill it all over!
