Personal | Paris, Ma Belle!

Last week Demak’ Up treated a couple of bloggers –including yours truly– to a day in Paris. On the agenda: a workshop with makeup artist Daniela Faurel, followed by a lunch and a guided tour of Le Haut-Marais, a trendy neighborhood in downtown Paris. Enjoy this picture diary!

04u45, my alarm goes off. As I roll out of my bed it’s clear –once again– how much of a bad morning person I really am. The morning grumpiness quickly disappears when Goedele (Voice PR) hands us a bag with thé best breakfast upon arrival at the Brussels station. Croissant, grapes, juice, cookies.. = YUM! I haven’t had a breakfast like that in a loooong time.

It’s not even 10AM when we arrive in cloudy Paris. Looks like we headed the wrong way as it was sunny back home. Ah well, we’re in Paris baby! After a quick ride on the bus we finally arrive at the cosy studio of MUA Daniela Faurel who worked for various local magazines and brands.

With the help of an assistant Daniela gave each blogger a make-over and a set of Ardell false eyelashes. It was my first time to try individual clusters of false eyelashes and I really liked the result. It looked natural and it didn’t feel like I was wearing false lashes at all. I loved the pink lip she gave me too. It’s a shade I still have to add to my stash, since I always tend to buy coral shades. My eyes got a gold/brown neutral smokey which made a nice day look. All that’s missing was someone to fix my boring hairdo. How do you like the look?

After we got all of that on film –or memorycard, we headed over to Le Marais for lunch where we settled for a cosy Thai restaurant, ‘Au Petit Thai‘. I went for the fish soup which was really spicy and delicious noodles with vegetables.

After lunch we met up with our guide to explore and discover the treasures that Le Marais holds. We begin our journey at Rue Rivoli, a long shopping street with some traditional French retailers like Kookaï and various artisanal shops.

Whenever you’re planning a trip to Paris, make sure you bring your beauty wish list along! Brands like La Roche-Posay, Bioderma, Caudalie, Nuxe, Avène etc are much cheaper there. I know of a certain gang of beauty bloggers who practically raided the Pharmacie du Marais…  😉

Curious for more?
Stay tuned for part 2 in which I’ll show you some sightseeing spots and places to shop! 😉

Oh, heel mooie make-up inderdaad! Die falsies zien er supernatuurlijk uit. Soms wil je toch gewoon dat iemand je wekelijks eens mooi kan opmaken 😀

Ben al benieuwd naar deel 2 van de post, leuk gedaan! <3
