I’m currently packing my bags for my holiday trip to the sunny beaches of Gran Canaria, a small island off of the coast of Africa. I’ll be looking for some sun, and hopefully bring it back home with me. I haven’t been on a summer trip in probably 2 years, so I’m really excited! I absolutely hate the packing part though. I can hardly decide what I’m going to wear for one day, let alone I’d pick out my outfits for 8! I always pack waaay more than I could possibly wear because my inner Rachel Zoe is screaming: you gotta have options, OPTIONS! in my ear.

The same goes for beauty products really. I start out with the products from my daily routine, second I add those I need on a holiday, and ultimately I add a couple of options thinking; oh what if I want to wear that colour of lipstick, and oh, what if that tube runs out and I can’t buy it there? Check out the products that made the cut below! Hmm, by the looks of it I think I might need another suitcase…

SUNCARE

First of all, the most important part of the whole beauty bunch: sun protection! The sun screen products by La Roche-Posay and Bioderma are specifically designed for the face. Normal products like the dry oil from Corine de Farme would simply be too greasy for my combination skin. While the big bottles are for those relaxing days by the pool/beach, the samples from Clarins are small and light, and therefore daytrip-proof.

HAIRCARE

Not only the skin, but also the hair can suffer severe damage from being exposed to the blazing sun for too long. For that, I’m bringing some waterproof protection for during exposure and some hydrating treatments for after. Then the beach spray for some styling and the Extrait Dora (when combined with sun) creates some dazzling blonde strands of hair.

Ah makeup, this is where the options-part comes in. I had the biggest trouble to choose lipsticks and nail polishes. I ended up with 5 different colors (still way to much). Luckily I don’t have any flashy eye shadows or that would’ve been a problem as well. I’m thinking about picking some up when I’m there, since there are a lot of beauty shops. And clothing stores as well. Damnit, I think I’ll have to go and throw out a couple of pieces before I leave!
