Most Exciting New High-End Releases: January

Who is ready for a new year of beauty launches? Each month I’ll select some of the most exciting new product launches that are about to hit the shelves so you’ll have a better idea on which one(s) you’d like to spend your hard earned pennies. January is a typical time for brands to release face products, so there’s no surprise in the amount that’s being represented in this list. After all, who doesn’t want to kick of the new year with a flawless face? 

Dior Diorskin Forever Collection

The matte foundation trend is still going strong and Dior is about to add in their two cents with the new Deerskin Forever Everlasting Wear Foundation. The formula promises to correct and matify all day long while preserving a youthful look and comfortable feel on the skin. To help keep the foundation in place, Dior is also coming up with the Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Extreme Perfection & Hold Makeup Base, a universal primer with nourishing ingredients. Lastly, the Deerskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder will help you get rid of any leftover shine.

Dior Diorblush Sculpt Professional Contouring Powder Blush

Although strobing got really popular in 2015, we still haven’t seen the last of the contouring products. Diorblush Sculpt is Dior’s first contouring blush which allows you to easily redefine the face’s structure and volumes with the precision of a makeup artist thanks to its two contrasting shades. Available in 4 shades:

Clinique Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub + Lip Balm

Clinique brings us the cutest release this month: these macaroons are actually lip scrubs and lip balms in 1. Depending on which side you open, you can exfoliate your lips or cover them in a nourishing formula with a sheer tint that lasts for 6 hours. Honestly, I want to collect them all!

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation

Not a fan of matte foundations? The latest foundation addition from Chanel might be your next go-to base. The Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation has a hydrating formula that reflects the light and gives your skin – like the name suggests – a healthy glow. Available in 14 colours worldwide (of which 8 in BE/NL).

MAC MatchMaster Shade Intelligence Compact cushion foundation

MAC kicks of the new year with their own cushion compact, the Matchmaster Shade Intelligence Compact which I talked about before. This seemingly undetectable foundation provides coverage that reveals rather than conceals your undertone. Its innovative cushion compact and sheer liquid formula with M.A.C’s breakthrough Shade Intelligence Technology lends true-to-life shade perfection and coverage, while letting your natural skin show through. Its cutting-edge delivery system allows the formula to be released in a superfine layer, providing a natural finish and sheer to medium buildable coverage. I’m curious how this will compare with other (Korean as well as Western) cushion foundations..

Hourglass Ambient Strobe Lighting Powders

Hourglass keeps on making products everybody wants in 2016. After adding a strobing powder to their super popular Holiday palette, they are now releasing 4 individual strobing powders that I can’t wait to get my hands on: Incandescent Strobe Light (opalescent pearl for a celestial highlight), Iridescent Strobe Light (illuminating pink for a soft highlight), Euphoric Strobe Light(pearlescent beige for a natural highlight) and Brilliant Strobe Light (shimmering gold for a lustrous highlight). The powders can be used wet or dry to achieve a more intense or subtle effect.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Powerfoil Mask

Last but not least, I present you with Estée Lauders first real dive into Korean beauty after choosing Irene Kim as their spokesperson/ face of the brand with their new Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Powerful Mask. Although the foiled mask may seem like a kitchen tool, this high-performance foil-backed sheet mask is designed to create a protective barrier, allowing the essence to penetrate fast and deep within the skin’s surface and help to lock in moisture. If this is as good as the Advanced Night Repair Serum, I see this becoming a night time staple for many.
