Monthly Faves: January 2015

The first month of 2015 has passed and it is time to show you my January favourites!

The Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O’ Blushes is one of my favourite purchases of late 2014 and I’ve got Hanne to thank for that. She picked it up for me when she was in London because this baby weirdly enough wasn’t part of the Benefit Christmas collection here in Belgium. I haven’t got it for that long so I haven’t tried all of them yet. The combination I’ve been loving this month in particular is the Rockateur blush and the Hoola bronzer, both of which are available in bigger boxed formats. I’ve been eyeing these two for a long time and after trying them I can only confirm these are definitely worth the hype. The Rockateur blush is a pretty dark rose gold with a warm beige undertone to it. To me this is the perfect blush for Fall/Winter. It gives off a natural flush while warming up the skin at the same time. When I want to add a little more warmth, I like to add the Hoola bronzer into the mix. It looks quite dark in the pan and it’s very pigmented, but with a light hand even fair skin types can make it work. I mostly use this for contouring along my cheekbones and temples.

The DHC Deep Cleansing Oil* is my new favourite way to cleanse and take off my makeup. This cult product has recently become available via The Lab at Ici Paris XL and I couldn’t be happier. It’s really gentle and takes all of my makeup off in no time. Just rubbing it on for about a minute with dry hands and rinsing it off with cold or lukewarm water is all it takes to make my face squeaky clean. Big thanks to Sunny for letting me have her sample! I’ll be discussing this one in more detail real soon, so stay tuned.

After reading a lot of raving reviews, I decided to pick up the Benefit Gimme Brow in light/medium when I was in New York last year. I’ve only started to use it recently and I completely fell in love. The shade is just right for my hair colour and the tiny wand is just the perfect size to colour the brow hairs in really fast without making a complete mess.

Tony Moly Peach hand cream is another product I picked up during my trip to the States. It’s actually from Korea, but due to the current hype of Korean beauty products, you’ll be able to find this in more and more places. I picked this up because of its unusual shape and its fruity scent which reminds me of the Danone Petit Gervais yoghurt I used to love when I was a kid. The hand cream is quite thick but my skin absorbs it rather quickly, leaving nothing but smooth and soft hands.

I neglected the Essence Hello Autumn eyeshadow palette pretty much after reviewing it, so in order to make it right I started using this one again throughout January. I love it because it has good pigmentation for a low-budget products and makes blue eyes pop like no other.

Givenchy Ange ou Démon Le Secret Elixir EDP* is pretty much all I’ve been wearing lately. It’s so funny every time I write about a certain scent, some people always ask me “Oh is that the perfume you wrote about?”. Well yeah. As you can see, I’ve been wearing it a lot since my review. It’s time to switch it up for February though. Can’t wear a certain scent for too long or I won’t smell it on me anymore, or worse, I run out..

Lastly is not so much a product on its own that is a favourite, but rather a combination of 3 products: the Essence lip pencil in 12 Wish Me A Rose, the MAC Gem of Roses lipstick (LE Semi-Precious collection) and the NYX Butter Gloss in Eclair. I’ve been wearing this lip combo all month because I wanted to try something new and I liked the result a lot. I’ll do a post on this soon so stay tuned!

So these where my faves from January. What are yours?
