MakeUp | Essence Me & My Ice Cream

Nothing is more tempting than some ice cream on a hot summer’s day. It gets even more tempting when the ice cream doesn’t involve any calories! Or at least this one doesn’t. The limited edition Me & My Ice Cream collection from Essence recently hit the shelves and I couldn’t help but hurry to Kruidvat to go check it out during my lunch break.. only to find that most was already sold out. Why Essence? Why would you tempt me this much only to provide a total of 3 items (per product) per store. WHY?!

I was mainly interested in the cute set of nail polishes which came in the cutest pastel shades, but I only found one; the lavender Ice, Ice Baby. Now I love lavender and this shade looks really pretty, BUT I wish they would’ve let the shimmery gloss out and just sticked to a regular light pastel lavender nail polish. But that’s only a minor detail. My biggest ‘worry’ with this is that it’s really hard to get an opaque & even looking nail polish. It took me at least 3 coats before I got this result because the nail polish was so thin and milky.

The brush was thin too, which didn’t make it any easier. I wasn’t even aware there are still brands that have these since wider brushes have proven to be more efficient. I’m still doubting wether I regret buying this, because the end result looks pretty nonetheless, but if you’re a nail polish newbie or you simply don’t have the patience to do a lot of coats I’d say; save your money for a better nail polish.

I also picked up this cream blush – I love cream blushes – so I just couldn’t resist. And I’m happy I did because Ice Bomb is such a pretty peach-rose shade. It has a good color pay-off and you can build it up or blend it out just perfectly until you get the desired shade. If you blend it out completely it becomes this healthy looking illuminating glow which looks really pretty in the summer, especially when the sunlight hits it. Because it’s so soft this product looks amazing on light skin tones.

I’m not sure wether this has anything to do with the texture, which is more bouncy than creamy and has a powdery finish. Thanks to the powdery finish I’m sure the glow factor won’t be an issue for people with combination/oily skin. Ice Bomb is certainly not thé best cream blush out there, but with a price as low as € 2,89 it’s definitely worth every cent in my opinion. Even more so because Essence products aren’t tested on animals! YAY winner!

Ik ben het helemaal eens met je ivm de nagellak. Het kwastje was veel te dun en de lak was op zich gewoon te dik en stroperig. No likey!

Hit en miss is deze collectie. Er zitten mooie dingen tussen maar jammer genoeg ook producten die echt tekort schieten.
