Garnier Ultra Doux Dry Shampoo

There are a couple of beauty products you can perfectly skip and there are those that you just always have to keep close. Dry shampoo is one of the latter. I can’t tell you how many times it saved my ass when my hair was perfectly fine in the evening, but I woke up like a total grease ball the day afterwards without any time left to wash it. I’m not exactly a morning person. Finding the right dry shampoo can be tricky though, with many leaving a white cast on top of your hair, making it REALLY obvious you didn’t wash your hair. And we’re not even talking about that distinct smell they have.

I’m a big fan of Batiste, but after 2 years I felt like I wanted to try something else. When I spotted the Garnier Ultra Doux Dry Shampoos at the drugstore with their bright & fun packaging, I knew they would become my new dry shampoo experiment.

I tried the Garnier Ultra Doux Cleansing Shampoo with Citrus Extract first because it was targeting one of my main hair concerns; hair that gets greasy fast. Plus, it was also the scent I thought I would like the most. Wrong! If there’s something about this dry shampoo that doesn’t make me want to use it again, it’s the scent. It’s supposed to be fresh and zesty, and it is to a certain point, but it’s kind of off. I just don’t like it at all. However, I continued to use it simply because it’s really good at making your hair and scalp feel fresh again, without that white cast so many dry shampoos seem to struggle with. I’d even suggest it for people who have dark(er) hair. It looks really natural because of how the spray dispenses the product.

The result of the Garnier Ultra Doux Dry Shampoo with Vanilla Extract is really similar, although I found the effect doesn’t last quite as long as when I used the Citrus one. It’s supposed to be for long hair, although I’m not sure what long hair has to do with dry shampoo? Either way, this one does have a better smell than the Cleansing Dry Shampoo, even though the scent in both cases is quite strong. When it comes to scent, they’re still no match for my Batiste with Cherry Extract, but in terms of formula these 2 come pretty close. They help me get through another day of not washing my hair and in the end, that’s all that matters.

Errr yeah I don’t see how the length of your hair as anything to do with it either. Scent-wise I’d probably love both though.
