Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue returns this Summer with the launch of 2 new limited edition fragrances – Light Blue Love in Capri for women and Light Blue Beauty of Capri for men. Inspiration for the fragrances comes from – what else – Capri, the famous Faraglioni and Arch of Love, the natural opening in the rocks where girls sigh; longing to be kissed by the boy they love.
The fragrance comes in a box with a picture of Capri in the 1950s, instantly evoking the romantic nostalgia of the island. The bottle itself is a sleek flacon in a sky blue shade with steel detailing and a white cap. Quite simple, yet beautiful and elegant.
D&G Light Blue Love in Capri is constructed as follows:
- Top notes: sparkling citrus notes of lemon and mandarin
- Heart notes: soft accord of honeysuckle found in Capri and creamy almond blossom with the richness of jasmine and heliotrope
- Base notes: musky notes, powerful cedar wood and dry amber notes
Love in Capri is my first D&G fragrance so I have no idea how this compares to its predecessors. If I had to describe it, I’d say it’s breezy, floral and romantic, a perfect fragrance for those summer days. I quite like it actually, and have been wearing it to give my summer 2016 favourite, The Master Perfumer Oriental Summer °11 a well-deserved break.
