Review: Diorskin Forever Foundation

A little while ago I was invited to the Dior offices to discover their new Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear foundation. I’ve always been a fan of the Dior foundations, so they didn’t have to ask me twice if I wanted to test their latest creation. The shade I got to take home with me (°23) was unfortunately a wee bit too yellow-ish for my winter milky face, but my mom was very happy with her new foundation. 🙂

First of all, the package is just typical Dior, all luxury. I loved the matte glass bottle, but the fact that it’s glass makes it a bit too heavy to carry around in my handbag.

The interesting part of the new foundation is that it’s said to have an ‘intelligent’ formula, which uses capsule technology to let the foundation adapt to the skin type. As I’ve stated before, my skin is rather dry at the moment, so I was very curious how it would react to my skin. And as it turns out, it did pretty well! I must add it really depends on the day cream you’re using, because if that wasn’t hydrating enough, the foundation would become flaky, and we don’t want that now do we? My mom has a mixed skin and she also confirmed this foundation helped hydrate the dryer areas and matify the greasier T-zone. Not completely, but enough to make a noteable difference. So kudos for this remarkeable formula!

Despite the fact that this is a fluid foundation, it’s quite sustainable. I only needed to pump once to cover my entire face. Of course you could use more if you want more coverage, but that would only create a caky effect. Because this foundation is developed to create a natural look, I wouldn’t recommend it for those who’re looking to cover up imperfections. In my case for example, my blemishes were still visible after applying the foundation, but for my mom, who only had slight variations of color in her skin, this foundation worked really well.

I’m sort of bummed that this doesn’t work that well for me right now, because the foundation is really nice, soft and practically invisible. But I’ll definitely keep this one in mind as soon as I get my mixed skin back and my blemishes have disappeared.

Diorskin Forever foundation €47,27

So in short, if you have greasy to slightly dry skin and only little imperfections,
I say GO get ’em tiger!

This product was offered to me by a brand/pr company.

Thanks for the review Ste! Too bad it’s too yellow for you, though as someone with pretty warm/yellow undertone I am happy that I might have some success with this one!

Do you normally retouch your foundation on-the-go? I set it with powder and usually leave it the way it is.

Yes well, my skin didn’t see much sun the last year so I’m as white as can be 😀
No, the only touch-ups I do are with lipstick and some concealer.

i’ve just bot this same color, its looks natural and gorgeous for me. the downside, i feel the texture is quite dry and doesnt glides smoothly on my face. maybe need to use with moisturizer and primer. it doent cover my pimples but it feels light on my skin and give u the non make up look. im still looking for a foundation dat doesnt need the extra work to look flawless. i’ve tried lancome teint miracle, its lighter than this diorskin even u wear it heavily! (this was done by the makeup counter person not me). maybe datts the nx foundation i will buy or maybe laura mercier as i i found many good comment out thr on their product. i will still appreciate this diorskin coz its the most expensive foundation ‘ve bot so far! for non expensive foundation, i will recommend revlon photoready (for luminuous skin) and revlon colorstay (matte and full coverage). it gives u same effect as the expensive product. i rate this diorskin 3 out of 5 for asian skin. the color is great for asian yellowish undertone… stil thinkg if there is any foundation out there is PERFECT for asian skin / asian hot climate???
