Last weekend I headed to the Nightshift Antwerp event together with Lisha for a preview of the new YSL Baby Doll Kiss & blush lips & cheeks soft matte colours. Phew, what a name. Try saying that one fast 10 times in a row. I apologize for the bad quality pics because I only had my smartphone at hand and it was really dark, but I just needed to show you what YSL has in store for us!
Vorig weekend trok ik na mijn dagje Breda met Lisha naar Night Shift Antwerpen voor een preview van de nieuwe YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush lips & cheeks soft matte colours. Phoe, wat een naam. Probeer dat maar eens snel 10x na elkaar te zeggen. Mijn excuses alvast voor de belabberde kwaliteit van de foto’s, want ik had slechts een smartphone bij de hand en het was nogal donker om te fotograferen, maar ik kon jullie deze preview gewoon niet onthouden!
Night Shift is a business/networking event where brands set up different stands to introduce their products while attendees -mostly creatives- mingle in a casual setting. YSL had a little make-up booth there where you could have your makeup done, or in particular, your lips with the upcoming YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush colours.
Night Shift is een business/netwerkevent waar merken hun nieuwste producten/diensten voorstellen in verschillende stalletjes, terwijl de aanwezigen – meestal creatievelingen – ervaringen en gegevens uitwisselen in een relaxte sfeer. YSL had er een klein make-up stalletje waar je je kon laten opmaken door MUA Florence Teerlinck en de YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush kleuren kon uittesten die binnenkort in de winkels zullen liggen.
Now this is a kit everyone would be jealous of right? I’m slowly building a YSL kit of my own, starting with -my favorite- the lipsticks. It’s possible my eyes turned into big hearts when seeing this collection. At this moment I’m the proud owner of Rouge pur 133, Rouge Pur Shine 10, Rouge Pur Couture 51, Rouge Volupté 1 & 15 and Rouge Volupté Shine 13. I still got a long way to go. With my upcoming trip to New York it’s very likely I’ll add some more colours to my stash, in particular ones that cannot be found here (anymore). If you happened to look for a present for Mother’s day, I’d definitely recommend you to check out the Rouge Volupté lipsticks.
Dit is nu eens een kit om jaloers op te zijn. Ik ben stilaan een YSL kit voor mezelf aan het verzamelen, beginnend met -mijn favoriet- de lipsticks. Het is best mogelijk dat mijn ogen veranderden in grote hartjes toen ik deze verzameling kon aanschouwen. Ik ben momenteel trotse eigenaar van Rouge pur 133, Rouge Pur Shine 10, Rouge Pur Couture 51, Rouge Volupté 1 & 15 and Rouge Volupté Shine 13 maar heb best nog een lange weg te gaan. Bij mijn tripje naar New York zou het best kunnen dat ik daar nog wat kleurtjes aan toevoeg die hier niet (meer) te verkrijgen zijn. Mocht je nog op zoek zijn naar een cadeautje voor moederdag dan zou ik de Rouge Volupté lipsticks beslist aanraden.
While Lisha was having her lips done I couldn’t help but notice the amazing eye makeup the MUA was wearing. It turned out to be this gorgeous YSL nude eyeshadow palette (°3). I need this in my life! While we were almost drooling all over the poor things, Sarah (YSL PR girl) told us YSL is planning on switching these for …. *drums*…
Terwijl Lisha kon genieten van een lip make-over kon ik haast mijn ogen niet afhouden van de geweldige oogmake-up van de make-up artist. Het bleek dit prachtige nude YSL oogschaduw palet (°3) te zijn. Ik heb ondertussen genoeg nudes om zelf een winkel te beginnen (aldus mijn pa), maar damnit wat wil ik deze graag! Terwijl we ons stonden te vergapen vertelde Sarah (het YSL PR meisje) ons dat deze binnenkort vervangen zullen worden door …*tromgeroffel*…
…Tadaah! The new YSL Couture eyeshadow palettes! And again, the nude palette (°4 Saharienne) is to die for! In-credi-ble! These won’t be for sale until May, so we’ll just have to be patient.
…Tadaah! De nieuwe YSL Couture oogschaduw paletten! En opnieuw stalen de nudes (°4 Saharienne) mijn hart! Ont-zet-tend mooi! Deze mooierds komen pas in mei in de winkels te liggen, dus het wordt nog even wachten.
Oops, looks like I got a little distracted there. On to the thing we came for: the YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush colours. These will be released in early May for € 35,50 and will come in 12 poppy shades that you can mix & match. The name Kiss & Blush should really say it all, but yes you can wear this on your lips as well as your cheeks. The applicator is unlike anything I have seen. It has the usual oval shape, but in the middle there’s another piece that sticks out a bit to even out the product. The liquid dries really fast into a matte finish that you can layer as you please to get more colour.
Oeps, ik ben afgedwaald. Laten we overgaan naar hetgeen waar we eigenlijk voor kwamen; de YSL Baby Doll Kiss & Blush kleuren. Deze worden begin mei uitgebracht voor € 35,50 en zullen verkrijgbaar zijn in 12 leuke kleurtjes die je naar hartelust kunt mixen. De applicator is iets wat ik nog niet eerder heb gezien. Het heeft de gebruikelijke ovale vorm, maar in het midden zit er nog een sponsje wat een beetje uitsteekt en ervoor zorgt dat het product gelijk over de lippen verspreid wordt. De vloeistof droogt behoorlijk snel op tot een matte finish die je naar behoren kunt opbouwen met laagjes.
A little preview with a #YSLfie: I got to take °5 Rouge Effrontée home which I immediately tried out the day after. I’m still not used to wearing reds, but for some reason I feel like I can get away with this one. In the picture on the left I applied 1 coat by gently buffing it in with my finger and in the right picture I added another layer or 2 on top to get a full opaque red lip, which is perfect for nighttime. In both pictures I’m wearing it on my cheeks as well. This was just a preview, but you can expect a hands-on review very soon!
Hier alvast al een kleine preview dmv een #YSLfie: Ik mocht °5 Rouge Effrontée mee naar huis nemen om uit te testen. Ik ben het nog steeds niet gewend om rood te dragen, maar om één of andere reden vind ik deze toch wel geslaagd. In de linkse foto heb ik lichtjes 1 laagje met de vinger aangebracht en in de 2de foto heb ik er nog 1 à 2 lagen aan toegevoegd voor een volle rode lip. In beide foto’s draag ik de kleur ook als blush. Ik kom hier uitgebreid op terug met een hands-on review!
