Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Brow Box

True, a brow powder box might not be the sexiest item the Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani collection has to offer, but given the importance of the ways brows define our expressions and overall looks, brow products are not to be overlooked, especially not this one..

Honestly a brow box wasn’t what I expected at all from UD & Gwen’s collab, but it was there and it was even bigger than I expected from looking at the product pictures. Quite heavy too. The UD x Gwen Stefani Brow Box in Bathwater Blonde comes in the same black, white & gold art like we saw with the original eyeshadow palette. It contains 2 cool-toned brow powders, a clear brow wax, 2 eyebrow brushes, a tweezer and 2 mirror divided over 2 levels.

Can I get an a-men for these gorgeous cool-toned, taupe/ash brow powders? They’re incredibly pigmented, easy to work with and have great staying power. Knocked my previous favourite, the Brow Kit from Catrice, which has slightly warmer toned shades, right out of the park. Especially if you have blonde hair, these are the colours for you!

I don’t always use the brow wax, but when I do, it keeps my wild brow hairs (especially the ones at the beginning of the brows) right in place. Just be careful not to go overboard like I kinda did before taking the picture, as they might end up looking crusty.

Not sure exactly why the box has 2 mirrors. The one in the bottom layer wasn’t necessary as it makes the box heavier and you need to go back and forth to pick up more product during application anyway. As far as the tools go, they’re handy for on the go, but I prefer using tools with a longer handle to be more comfortable. The hairs of the brushes are quite harsh and you can end up with more product on your brush than you bargained for. I use my Zoeva brow brush most of the time. Lastly, the tweezers I don’t use (too small) so I might change them for a mini spoolie.

For reasons unknown, my camera has a hard time focusing on my brows, but I hope this photo can give you some idea of how the product looks like on (wearing both colours and the wax). Most brow powders are too warm for me, so I was happy to see this worked out so well. My brows no longer look out of place, but full and above all, natural. If the brow box purely consisted out of the 2 powders at perhaps a slightly lower price point, that would’ve been fine by me. I still recommend the Catrice Brow Kit for those who are looking in the budget field, but as far as high-end stuff goes, this is my new favourite brow product (together with Benefit’s Gimme Brow).
