Anyone who watched ‘The Rachel Zoe Project’ already knew this was coming. Rachel Zoe is expanding the RZ empire with her own fashion label. The Rachel Zoe Collection is set to launch in fall next year and will include clothing, shoes and accessories with plans to later branch into interiors.
“My ultimate dream scenario was to be on the design side,” said Zoe. “You will absolutely see my trademark pieces. I’ll definitely do faux furs and incredible leather jackets and great trousers. But I’m catering to a broader audience.”
Zoe began her career as a celebrity stylist dressing a host of A lister’s including Nicole Richie, Eva Mendes and Cameron Diaz. Her business now comprises four subdivisions: styling, print, product development and consulting.
“One time at a fashion show,” said Zoe to WWD, “an editor said to me, ‘Did you just come out of, like, thin air? You just appeared and now all I do is see your name and hear this and that, you’re sitting in the front row next to me at all these shows and dada.’ I said, ‘I’ve been working my ass off for 15 years.”
