NOTD: Catrice – Meet Me At Coral Island

Hi guys, I’m sorry I’ve been MIA recently. I’ve been so busy with school I hardly have found the time to blog. I wish there were more hours in a day so I could get everything done and get a good night sleep, but I guess that goes for everyone. Next week, when I’ve handed in my paper, I will be back on track with lots of posts (Antwerp Press Days, Armani event, outfit posts etc) before we’re back to my favorite (ahem) time of the year: the exam period (aka blogging rehab).

Anyway, I had a little time this weekend to stock up on some beauty stuff and this nail polish from Catrice is one of the things I bought. I was always a bit skeptical about budget brands, but because I’ve read a lot of great things about the Catrice nail polishes, I decided to try them out. I ended up buying two, since they weren’t expensive at all (2,49 euros!) and I’m kind of addicted to nail polishes. I practically always buy nail polishes when I’m shopping for beautygoodies. I love corals, so this polish captured my heart at the spot. Meet Me At Coral Island (030) is a bright coral shade that is just perfect for spring/summer.

For this picture, I used the Rituals base coat (best base coat ever) and 2 layers of the coral color. I always use 2 layers because in my experience, it covers better and there’s less chance of chipping. In real life, the color looks a bit more red than in the pic though. I was surprised about the quality of this nail polish since I didn’t expect much for 2,49 euros. The ones from Gosh are 6 euros and chip like crazy, no matter how many layers. In my opinion, this nail polish comes close to the OPI quality, but it still needs some work. After 2 days, I discovered some minor chips here and there, but nothing that can be noticed by others. Therefore, I’d definitely recommend this nail polish if you’re looking for a budget-proof version of the OPI quality. You won’t be disappointed!

Catrice is available at Kruidvat.

I really like the color. I own Catrice nail polish myself and couldn’t agree more on its quality considering that it’s really budget-proof!
