Forget about the Monday blues, today is all about PINK! We’ve seen it both in fashion and hair fashion; pink is überhot, so makeup just couldn’t stay behind. Today I’d like to introduce you to one of the most exciting collections this Spring has to offer for fans of this adorable shade.
Prismissime Euphoric Pink is marketed as the absolute must-have of the collection and I couldn’t agree more. It’s absolutely stunning. I’ve always been a fan of Givenchy’s Prismissime 9 shades eye palettes and when images of Euphoric Pink popped up I knew I had to have it. It’s pain-in-the-butt expensive but definitely worth it if you like to switch up colours more than wear the same one every day. The palette contains a mix of pinks, but they’re so versatile in use as they go from nude pinks to barbie pink to electric bright fuchsia. The texture isn’t hydrating nor drying, making it easy to use them on your cheeks as well. Even though the shades look shiny, they come off as semi-matte, which makes it incredibly important to make sure your lips are in perfect condition ( scrub!) before you apply them. I’m currently playing around with all of the colours so you’ll definitely hear more about this in the near future.
We continue with the lip products with Rouge Interdit Shine °36 Rose Sensation, a sheer pink lipstick with shimmer. Thanks to the pH-reactive ingredients the lipstick adapts its colour when it comes in contact with the skin, creating a your-lips-but-better lip colour. Therefore, the effect will be depending on the person. If the Euphoric Pink palette is too bright for you, Rose Sensation will be a better fit as it is more subtle in colour. It’s also more hydrating than the lip & cheek palette and will add more shine to the lips.
Last up is one of Givenchy’s newest eye shadow releases: Ombre Couture °10 Rose Illusion. I was a bit hesitant to try this, since my last try at Givenchy’s cream eyeshadows didn’t end so well. Before I could even leave the bathroom, it would’ve creased like a mofo. Luckily, with Ombre Couture it’s nothing like that. The texture is creamy and dries fast into a soft powdery texture that stays put perfectly. The colour is a soft old pink you can build to make it look more intense. Not a colour I’d usually go for, but one that ended up looking very pretty. It is said to be waterproof and last 16hrs, making this also a good product to use as an eyeshadow base. I’ll be testing this some more, but it’s got me interested to go take a peek at the other colours as well.
Here I’m wearing the Ombre Couture Rose Illusion eyeshadow and the Affectif lip colour (Euphoric Pink palette – bottom row, middle shade).
Over Rose is my favourite collection from Givenchy from the past year or so. The colour range is pretty (even for fair skin tones) and so far I haven’t experienced any disadvantages that would put me off. If you love pink as much as I do I suggest you go have a look and do some swatching. In the meantime I’ll give this lovely candylicous collection a couple more spins before I bring you my hands-on review.
