Apart from the regular Spring launches, January was quite a ‘quiet’ month regarding new beauty releases, but all of that is set straight during February, where we’ll be seeing one great release after another. Again, I have collected some products I’m really looking forward to for this month’s Exciting New High-End Releases edit.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Lipsticks & Nail polishes
I saw a visual of a Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire nail polish months ago and I have been obsessed to see these come out ever since. So it turns out, the nail polishes will be accompanied by matching lipsticks. Can I get a double hurrah?! The lipsticks come in a range of 24 different colours and will carry the La Petite Robe Noire fragrance. They’re said to have an ultra-shiny finish and pure & luminous colours thanks to a cocktail of fine oils and a selection of “POP” pigments coated in a specific shine-boosting resin. The nail polishes will also be scented and you’ll be able to choose from 10 vibrant shades with an ultra-glossy finish. Being a fan of the original La Petite Robe Noire fragrance and design of it, I think the entire collection looks absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to add some of these to my collection.
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Deliciously Shiny Lip Colour – € 29,50
Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Delicously Shiny Nail Colour – € 23
Available as from February 16th.
Lancôme From Paris With Love Spring 2016 Collection
Lancôme brings us one of my favourite LE collections this Spring: pastel pink, sweet & girly, just the look I’m loving for Spring. I’ve pretty much had it with this Winter, so these colours would be more than welcome. Absolute highlights in the collection for me are the My Parisian Pastels cubes, which you can use as individual eyeshadows or together as a highlighter for the face, the pretty cushion compact case featuring a 3D illustration of the Parisienne strolling with her balloons floating off in the Parisian sky in case you’d like to give your Miracle Cushion a cute update and on the number 1 spot the two My Parisian Blush play-doh type blushers. I will be reviewing a couple of products from this collection, so stay tuned!
My Parisian Blush in 01 Corail de Ville and 02 Rose Haussmann – € 35
Available at Lancôme counters and perfumeries.
Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Spring Collection
Those who have seen me rave about the UD x Gwen eyeshadow palette already knew this was going to make the cut. I originally tried to pick just a couple of favourites, but quickly realized that task was just impossible. This must be my favourite collab in a loooong long time. Great packaging design, wonderful colours (although some might find there’s a lack in diversity of shades, but hey this is the signature Gwen look after all) and beautiful products. I’ve been wearing the eyeshadows and lip stick samples that came with the palette non-stop ever since I got it. If you have any interest in getting one of these products, you better be quick because these will be flying off the shelves.

Givenchy Le Rouge Interdit Vinyl Lipsticks
Givenchy brings us a new lipstick formula with the Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl, which comes in 12 shades. The line contains black rose oil, an ingredient that supplies the lips with moisture and keeps them ultra smooth. In addition silicone resin, which coats the lips surface with a fine, soft glossy film that feels like a second skin. Really interesting is that one of the shades, Noir Revelateur, reacts depending on the pH of the lips and delivers different colours, ranging from purple to plum. It can be used on its own or as a top coat to darken the color of the lips. We’ve seen a lot of pinky shades like this on the market, but never a dark one, so I’m particularly curious to see that colour in action.
Givenchy Rouge Interdit Vinyl Lipstick – € 33
Available at Ici Paris XL (BE/NL)
Kiehl’s Polutant Defending and Energizing Radiance Masques
Kiehl’s pretty much saved my skin last year which is why I’m keeping a close eye on every new release. They’re coming out with 2 new face masks this month, the Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Masque and the Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque. Quite a mouthful, but the kind I really want to slap on my face right now (no pun intended). Knowing that Belgium is the 2nd most polluting country in Europe, it really makes me wonder what kind of impact it has on our largest organ, our skin, and if there’s a way to protect it better. I’ll be doing some research and get back to you when I have tried the Pollutant Defending Masque to let you know! The orange pot is a brightening mask which helps to restore the healthy appearance of the skin with the help of cranberry seeds for a smoother, brighter, illuminated skin.
Kiehl’s Face Masques 74 ml – € 34
Available at Kiehl’s shops & counters.
Verso Skincare Face Masks
Please excuse me while I sneak in the most expensive sheet masks I’ve ever seen. € 82 for a pack of 4 sheet masks, why hello. Are they made with diamonds? As it turned out, no they don’t, but they are hydrogel masks (which are more advanced than regular cotton sheet masks) and contain Retinol 8 that will stimulate the collagen, resulting in younger and fresher looking skin over time, while keeping the skin moisturized. Does that make up for the price? I guess only a trial will tell but in the mean time, I’m intrigued.
Verso Deep Hydration Mask and Intense Facial Mask – € 82
Verso Reviving Eye Mask – € 55
Available at Verso resellers.
