Perhaps you’ve already spotted them in stores, Philosophy’s pretty new lip shines which are inspired by the famous 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel & bubble baths. They come in 6 different flavors: cinnamon buns, raspberry sorbet, melon daiquiri, vanilla birthday cake, coconut frosting and senorita margarita. They promise to be high-gloss, high-flavoring lip glosses that hydrate, condition and make the lips smooth and soft.
I admit I’m not the biggest lipgloss fan. For some reason my hair always gets tangled up in it, so I usually go for lipstick instead. But when I saw these cute lip glosses from Philosophy, I couldn’t help but feel at least a little bit curious since I’m a big fan of the 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel and bubble bath products.
Raspberry Sorbet was the flavor I got to put to the test. It’s a beautiful sheer coral pink with white/silver glitters. The pigmentation is almost non-existent so if you’re looking for color, this isn’t the product for you. What this lip shine does deliver is pure shine. One you can wear on nude lips or use as a top coat over your favorite lipstick. De texture is pretty thick and the stickiness is so-so. Let’s just say I’ve had better. It does help to make it last though.
Thanks to nourishing ingredients as sunflower seed oil and vitamin e the lip shine works almost as great as a lip balm, making my winter-damaged lips look juicier. The reason I’d suggest this lip gloss however (if lip gloss is your thing and you don’t mind the stickiness) is because of its incredibly sweet scent and taste! God, it’s like a sugarsweet fruitcandy party is happening on my lips. I almost want to eat it!
After this experience I still won’t be much of a lip gloss fan, but for the sweet taste of Philosophy’s Raspberry Sorbet I’ll happily make an exception every once and a while. Especially with summer coming up this will be the lip gloss I’ll be keeping in my handbag. I’ll probably won’t repurchase this since it’s a bit pricy imo, in the end I still am more of a lipstickgirl.

Misschien heb je ze zelf al gespot, de 6 nieuwe Lip Shines van Philosophy, geïnspireerd op de gelijknamige 3-in-1 shampoo, shower gel & bubble bath producten. Ik ben niet echt een fan van lip gloss maar toen ik deze zag was ik toch wel benieuwd.
Ik testte de Raspberry Sorbet, een transparante koraalrode gloss met wit/zilver glitters. Veel kleur geeft hij niet af, maar aan glans ontbreekt deze lip shine in ieder geval niet! Mijn lippen die deze de winter behoorlijk hebben geleden onder de kou zien er meteen al heel wat beter uit. De textuur is best wel dik en qua plakkerigheid (mijn grootste afknapper bij lipgloss) valt het al bij al wel nog mee. Laten we zeggen dat ik er al betere heb uitgeprobeerd. Hij blijft er in ieder geval goed door zitten.
Als er één ding is waar deze lip shine extra goed scoort, is het wel zijn zeemzoete geur & smaak. Het lijkt haast of er zich een fruitsnoepfeestje op mijn lippen afspeelt. Ik zou ‘m zelfs bijna opeten ipv dragen! Met de zomer in het vooruitzicht mag de Raspberry Sorbet alvast al zeker zijn van een plaatsje in mijn handtas. Hem zelf opnieuw kopen zit er waarschijnlijk wel niet in (en al zeker niet voor die prijs), ik blijf uiteindelijk toch eerder een lipstickmeisje.
