L’Oréal Infallible Lip Paint

It was sad to see one of my favourite L’Oréal lip products go, but one can’t weep for too long when they are replaced by the new L’Oréal Infallible Lip Paints. First launched at the beginning of the year (in BE), the range has been enlarged twice this year, which now comes down to a total of 17 shades and 2 finishes (Lacquer/Matte) to choose from. I purchased one from the original range, but it wasn’t until the release of the Nudist collection in early Summer that I became smitten with them.

Let me start off with saying how much I love the packaging. Even though it’s a simple plastic squeeze tube, the long and slim design make it look so chic and refined. I particularly love how much the colour of the tube as well as the finish match the colour and finish of the actual product. This really is handy when you’re trying to pick a colour when there are no samples available. Because of the design it’s also easy to get the desired amount of product onto the wand. It has a heart-shaped doe foot applicator which makes it easy to track the contours of the lips as well as filling them in.

As for the product itself I can say that they’re not exactly my favourite formula ever, but I do enjoy them a lot because the colour range has something for everyone. I can’t speak for all of the Lacquers since I’ve only tried one, but it did seem to be better pigmented than the Matte range.

Even within the matte range, some colours had better pigmentation than others. Still, I’d rather call it a semi-matte as it still leaves a slight shine. But, if you’ve been avoiding matte liquid lipsticks because of the drying feeling, these will definitely help you out with that. They’re comfortable to wear and don’t dry out your lips. Reapplication is required after eating/drinking though, especially for the bolder colours. The Lip Paints also have a sweet fragrance to them. It didn’t bother me at all, but if you’re picky about fragrance in makeup, it’s something to take into account.

I got them in 4 colours; 102 Darling Pink, 201 Hollywood Beige, 205 Apocalypse Red & 211 Babe-In. I only got 201 and 205 recently, but I’ve been wearing Babe-In all the time ever since it came out. Finally a brown nude that matches my pale cool skin tone! I’ve nearly emptied it and the year isn’t even over! This particular shade is what sparked my interest in nudy browns, so it definitely has had an impact on what I wore for the rest of the year.
