Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator

I hope you’re reading this while laying on the spotless beach of some exotic island, without a worry on your mind. No waking up at 6-7 am to go to work, no traffic jams, no deadlines, just pure bliss. Sure you can wave stress goodbye by going on a holiday, but what about the stress your skin is experiencing on a daily basis? Kiehl’s offers the solution with the Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer Stress-Minimizing Daily Hydrator, a lightweight moisturizer with calming benefits thanks to ingredients like Rosa Gallica-extract, Mannose, Camomile-extract and Shea butter.

First of all, I love the packaging of this moisturizer. It has just the right size to stuff in my make-up & skin care bag for when I’m traveling, it comes with a pump that gives off small amounts of product (nothing goes to waste) and it comes with a pump guard to prevent it from ‘moisturizing’ the rest of your bag when you’re on the go.

The Skin Rescuer has a thin texture which makes it easy to spread, but it’s also very rich, too rich even for my (combination & acne-prone) skin type. I’ve read that some bloggers even use this under another moisturizer, something I wouldn’t even dream of trying. Even though I found it moisturizes perfectly, my face ends up looking pretty oily after 2 hours after applying my make-up. When I use it on days where I have dry patches, it works perfectly fine. I wouldn’t say it works miracles, but it does help calm the irritated areas down just a little when needed. Furthermore it’s unscented and perfectly sensitive skin-friendly.

75 ml of the Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer will set you back about € 35 and I’ve enjoyed using every last drop of it, but due to the oily side effect I won’t be repurchasing this.

De verpakking vind ik in ieder geval geweldig; ideaal van grootte voor in je tas, een pompje die kleine hoeveelheden product afgeeft (zo gaat er niets verloren) en een beschermdop die gaat voorkomen dat hij ook de inhoud van je tas gaat ‘hydrateren’.

De Skin Rescuer heeft een lichte textuur die gemakkelijk te verdelen is, al vind ik deze veel te rijk voor mijn gemengde en acne-gevoelige huid. Hij hydrateert geweldig goed, alleen gaat mijn gezicht er al heel snel vettig uitzien. Heel jammer. Ik gebruikte hem daarom vooral op dagen waarin ik last had van drogere plekjes en daar doet hij het wel prima om snel de geïrriteerde zones te kalmeren. De Skin Rescuer is bovendien ook niet geparfumeerd en dus helemaal geschikt voor gevoelige huidjes. Voor 75 ml product betaal je € 35, maar je komt er wel een heel eind mee toe (ik zweer het, daar blééf maar product uitkomen). Ik heb ‘m volledig opgebruikt al zou ik deze niet opnieuw kopen omwille van het vettige neveneffect.
