Fashion Club 70 A/W 2011 preview

Two weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit the Fashion Club 70 showroom to get a preview of the autumn/winter 2011 collections of their brands. Fashion Club 70 is an independent fashion agency that distributes high-end fashion brands like 7 For All Mankind, Alberta Ferretti, DKNY, Matthew Williamson, M Missoni, Liu.Jo, Paul & Joe, Pinko, Versace Jeans etc.. in the Benelux. I wanted to visit the showroom for so long and I was so psyched when I saw the invitation in my mailbox, I thought I must have a guardian angel or fairy godmother or something. It didn’t take long before I found out who that guardian angel was. 😉 Thank you so much! ♥

I went to pick up Annebeth and later Kim also joined us. (Picture courtesy of Kim)

The showroom pretty much exceeded all my expectations. It was so huge, I felt like I had arrived in a terminal of an airport, only they had clothes and I was so excited to go on board! While we had drinks and the most delicious snacks, we were able to enjoy a fashion show presenting some looks of the collection. I really liked the styling of the models and it represented a good recap of what the collections really were all about. The looks were both wearable and inspiring; a combo I really appreciated.

The two looks above are my absolute favorites! I love how they managed to keep the look very feminine despite of the all the layers. It’s not because it’s cold during winter that I want to hide my feminine curves in a huge tent! These looks demonstrate how it should be done. They’re definitely something that make me long to wear in cold winter times. But before I jinx this good weather, let’s say there’s a time for everything and that I’ll enjoy some summertime first.

The event mainly focused on a couple of the brands they distribute: Mauro Grifoni, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, 2nd DAY, 7 For All Mankind, DKNY, D.A.T.E., Paul and Joe, M Missoni and Dondup. Let me take you on a tour around the showroom. Ready for take-off?

Lots of bright colors at Mauro Grifoni.

DAY Birger et Mikkelsen has been one of my favorite Scandinavian brands for a while know and they didn’t let me down this time either. They bring us lots of soft, nude tones, paillettes, comfortable wool chiffon and embroidered details. Now they also offer a new line called 2nd DAY.

Great accessories at DKNY. Especially loved these wedges.

Sneakerbrand D.A.T.E. This fun T-shirt immediately caught my eye since it’s a question a ask myself (or my mom) almost every morning since I’m always still half asleep and can’t seem to remember where I left them the day before. It’s called morning amnesia and there’s unfortunately no cure (yet). Long story short; love the tee.

7 For All Mankind has managed to stay put at the position of one my favorite jeans brands since I first discovered them about 6-7 years ago. And what a discovery that was! I have about 5 pairs of their jeans. They’re pricey, but heyvwhat can I say? They were just made for my booty! 😉

Annebeth and I fell head over heels for Paul and Joe. Loved the soft feminine tones and fabric, ruches and sleeve details. A collection for girly girls.

As I’ve indicated before, busy prints aren’t really my thing. And that is just what M Missoni is all about! I do have to admit when I saw the looks on the models, the brand looked far more appealing to me. Maybe I’ll try to surrender to a printed piece next season. And maybe, just maybe I might discover another side of me. I’m open to try (almost) anything and after all, fashion is all about experimenting and having fun, so why not?

A new lovely discovery was Dondup, a fun and edgy Italian brand. Dondup officially started out as a denim brand in 1999. The label already has a huge fanbase in Italy , and now they’re on their way to conquer the rest of the world.

A big thanks to Fashion Club 70, my guardian angel and the lovely company I was in that night!
