It’s finally here; the Dior DreamSkin cushion; a collaboration between Dior and the inventor of the cushion foundation, Amore Pacific! I’ve been waiting for this launch forever but it turns out it’s not exactly what I expected..
The Dior DreamSkin cushion is part of the Capture Totale line, which is actually an anti-aging skin care line targeted to older women. So rather than a cushion foundation, the Dior DreamSkin Cushion is more of a hybrid product (aka cosmakeup) that has anti-aging properties with a texture that refines the skin’s structure, helps fade dark spots and redness, and makes the skin look firm, smooth and more even.
Like all cushion products, the Dior DreamSkin comes in a handy compact for on-the-go. The formula is stored in a cushion sponge and locked away in an air-tight hatch that you can remove with a simple click once the product has run out. On top you’ll find the soft & flexible sponge applicator which is used to pat on the product.
As for the skin care part of the formula, Dior highlights 2 ingredients: Longoza and Ophilia. These are part of the original DreamSkin formula and contain anti-aging and perfecting properties. They are said to be highly effective against wrinkles, spots, redness and dull looking skin.
The formula comes in 3 different colours: 010 – 020 – 030 and is very lightweight. I’m using 010 but I find it’s a little too orange for my fair skin. If you’re looking for coverage, you’ll probably be disappointed as this cushion offers very little. It’s enough to even out the skin tone a little, but big differences in colour won’t be washed away, no matter how many layers you apply.
Because the formula is so watery, it tends to sink into fine lines under my eyes and mouth. It does provide a bright and natural looking finish and provides optimal protection from the sun thanks to SPF 50 PA+++. Given the fact that the cushion is made to be reapplied during the day, this is the best way to keep your skin protected all day long.

With a staggering price point of € 85, this is the most expensive cushion product I’ve ever used. You do get an extra refill in the box, but still.. that’s pretty expensive. Given the lack of coverage the Dior DreamSkin Perfect Skin Cushion offers, I’d say this could work if your skin is pretty flawless on its own. It evens out the skin and makes it look bright and natural. For me it’s just not enough to cover up redness, dark spots and blemishes so I usually follow up with a cushion foundation. But fear not, Dior is launching an actual cushion foundation in their Dior Forever line as soon as next Spring. Can’t wait!
