Following the success of the Kate Lasting Finish Lipsticks, Rimmel launched a range of 6 new shades with a matte velvety finish. I received a couple of them to try.
While the first batch of Kate lipsticks had a matte black casing, the second collection went for a matte red coat with the original Kate logo/signature. They’re easy to recognize, but I kinda liked the black ones better. Why is it that °111 is the only one who has a name (Kiss of Life)?
Below I swatched all 6 shades + the 4 shades I own on my lips. The collection has a bit of everything; nudes, pale pink, bright red and a berry shade. I’m not a big fan of the nudes from this collection, but hey that’s just me.
Just like last time, the lipsticks are very creamy and aren’t drying, which is pretty rare for matte lipsticks. The color pay-off is excellent and they will last for up to 4 hours before I feel the need to re-apply.
Matte lipsticks expose all the imperfections, so using a lip scrub before applying these is a must. As you can see they’re not completely matte, but have a slight sheen finish. At first I thought 101 would be my favorite, but I fell in love with the darker shades as well. Nothing but loving words here so I’d recommend you check these out too!
The lipsticks are sold for € 9,49 at the drug store.
